Dan recently retired from Deloitte & Touche and now serves both as Professor of Practice in the Accounting Group at Northeastern University in Boston and as a consultant on a variety of accounting, auditing and finance projects. In his 38-year career with Deloitte & Touche, Dan served both as a lead client service partner on a number of the firm’s most complex multinational clients and as a senior professional practice leader charged with managing the Firm’s quality footprint throughout the United States and around the World. From 2015 to 2020 Dan served as Deloitte’s Chief Auditor and its National Leader – Audit and Assurance Services. Dan’s background working with senior management, corporate boards/ audit committees and regulators at critical junctures in the company life-cycle.
This gives him significant insight into the qualities and characteristics required for a CFO to succeed during times of transition and transformation, hallmarks of private equity ownership. Dan works with Vardis’ leadership to develop the Firm’s practices and methodology on a US and a global basis, including the development of standardized tools for candidate evaluation and quality control and assists in the direct evaluation of CFO candidates. Dan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Latin from Dickinson College (Magna cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa) and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Chicago. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
