For more than 20 years, the Company, which is committed to delivering 1 billion tonnes of CO2 reductions, has worked with climate-leading businesses to support more than 600 carbon removal and reduction projects in 56 countries. Climate Impact Partners was created through the merger of Natural Capital Partners and ClimateCare. This merger was facilitated through a significant investment of capital by Averna Capital, who joined existing investors Alexander Square Capital and Souter Investments.

The Need

The carbon offset market is highly complex and changing rapidly. There is a significant first-mover opportunity for the Company that can demonstrate the capability to deliver large-scale projects on a global basis. The strength and personal brand of Company leadership are an essential, visible demonstration of Company capabilities. For Climate Impact Partners, a reach beyond the UK headquarters of its predecessor organizations was essential.

The Results

Working closely with the search committee, Vardis led the search resulting in the appointment of Sheri Hickok as Chief Executive Officer. Sheri joined the Company from GE Renewable Energy where she most recently served as VP and CEO of the international onshore wind business and was responsible for the future growth and implementation of GE Onshore wind turbines across APAC, MENAT, LATAM, EU and SSA. Throughout her 27-year career, she has focused on developing and scaling industry-leading products that support a net zero economy. She has held various leadership positions with GE Renewable Energy and General Motors ranging from Engineering, Supply Chain, Product Management, and P&L leadership. Sheri is also a member of the World Economic Forum Young Global Leaders, is a three-time DAVOS Panelist on Urban Mobility, The Future of Production, and Women in Tech, and has been recognized for her leadership and impact with numerous awards and accolades across her career.
