Greg Weller Appointed to Lead GardenCore as Chief Executive Officer
GardenCore, a leading U.S. manufacturer of lawn and garden consumables backed by Pacific Avenue Capital Partners, has appointed Greg Weller as its inaugural Chief Executive Officer.
GardenCore was formed following Pacific Avenue Capital Partners' acquisition of Oldcastle Lawn & Garden, Inc. from CRH in a transaction valued at over $1.1 billion, with the business operating under its new name as a fully standalone company. With more than 1,400 employees and over 55 manufacturing facilities across the United States, GardenCore is a category leader in mulch, soil, stone, and lime products, with long-standing retail relationships across major home improvement and garden center channels.
Mr. Weller brings extensive experience leading PE-backed businesses through complex transitions and growth. Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer of ServiceMaster Brands (Roark Capital), a $3.6 billion franchised services platform operating more than 4,600 locations across brands including Terminix, Merry Maids, and Two Men and a Truck. In that role, he stabilized a challenged carve-out, rebuilt the senior leadership team, and grew the platform while exceeding EBITDA targets.
Prior to ServiceMaster, Mr. Weller was an original member of the initial leadership team with CD&R at SiteOne Landscape Supply — itself a carve-out from John Deere — where he spent seven years building out the supply chain and operations infrastructure for one of the largest landscape distribution platforms in the country. During his tenure, he oversaw 82 acquisitions and the integration capability that supported them, and SiteOne grew from approximately $700 million in revenue at carve-out to more than $4 billion, including a successful NYSE IPO. Earlier in his career, he held consulting roles at McKinsey & Company and Accenture.
Mr. Weller holds a Master of Business Administration from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Georgia Terry College of Business. He is based in Atlanta, Georgia.
